Here's some food for thought for today...

A (late) Labour Day ode to the farm worker.
Can you figure out food labels? Is it easy to tell which ingredients are allergens? Potential new labelling may clear things up.
For everyone who thinks Cosmopolitans are a sweet girly drink - think again. The correct proportions can pack a punch.
What's your view on Kraft Dinner? I hated the stuff as a kid (hated anything cheez-flavoured) but the perception of the dish seems to depend on your economic status. Plus a nice selection of really clueless comments from people who apparently missed the food bank references in the original article.
And finally, another instance of "hellooo, common sense" - 4 people in Sweden were poisoned after baking a cake from a recipe with a typo. The recipe called for 20 whole nutmeg instead of two pinches of nutmeg. Aside from the fact that nutmeg is a known poison in large quantities, that much nutmeg in a cake would be absolutely disgusting, yet they ate the whole thing anyway.

What exactly do you do with leftover coulis?
Stretching the chicken. Why buying a better quality bird and getting four separate meals out of it makes more sense than buying the cheap stuff.
Even though all the problems with our food system seem to come from large corporations, in the US the government seems to think putting pressure on small producers is the way to deal with the problem.
They call them "pixifoods", we call it "secret shame" - foods we loved as kids but can't stand as grown-ups.
And finally - maybe combining a tasty orange soda with ads that show anthropomorphized animals getting sex-ay isn't the best marketing plan, hmmm? Yikes!
