The Event: Closing Reception

Closing party for "The Event", a photographic exhibition by John Gundy celebrating the creative minds behind local food events. Featuring hors d’oeuvre by Anthony Walsh (Canoe), John Lee (Chippy’s) and Joshna Maharaj & Scott Vivian (The Wine Bar), wine provided by Tawse, Norm Hardie & Stratus, and beer provided by Steam Whistle. All ticket holders will have 3 chances to win their selection of a framed print, and there will be a silent auction for an overnight stay at Langdon Hall including a three-course dinner and breakfast for two. A portion of the proceeds from the reception will be donated to Second Harvest.

Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival

Tap into nature at the 42nd Annual Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival, the GTA’s longest running and most popular maple syrup festival. The festival celebrates the coming of spring and the sights, sounds and tastes of a Canadian heritage that sprouted from an age-old tradition of the First Nations people who first used the syrup for food and medicine. The Festival will include food and drinks, fun for all ages and lots of entertainment including daily self guided activities at both locations: maple syrup demonstrations, syrup sampling, horse drawn wagon rides, pony rides, maple syrup guided walks and more. Join us for an extra special Food for Change dinner. As a finale to Stop for Food, Chef Chris Brown will be joined by the Cross Town Kitchens chefs (Anthony Davis, Jason Inniss, Luis Valenzuela, Bertrand Alépée and Ted Corrado) and the whole team will produce a sumptuous five-course meal for you to enjoy in our beautiful greenhouse. Optional wine pairings from Coyote's Run. Proceeds to support The Stop Community Food Centre.

Stop For Food

$35 & $50 prix fixe menus

Dozens of Toronto’s finest restaurants unite once again for Stop for Food, a culinary celebration that raises funds for The Stop Community Food Centre, a unique anti-poverty organization in the city’s west end. Throughout the month of March, each participating restaurant will offer a special prix fixe menu priced at either $35 or $50 per person, with $5 or $10 respectively per meal being donated directly to The Stop. These menus will be prepared in each restaurant’s distinctive style, using exclusively Ontario-grown ingredients, further strengthening the bonds between local farmers and artisanal producers, restaurants and the community.
