What’s Cooking – Tuesday, February 9th

Here's what's cooking around town today...

Aw man, if I had known that the tour of the Campbell's soup factory to hear about their low-sodium initiatives included getting to meet Hilton, I'd definitely have gone! [National Post]

Does the shape of a piece of chocolate make a difference in how you experience its taste or will all flavours and textures be more apparent if you simply pay attention and savour your food? [Eye]

This post about food graffiti is pretty neat, but I'm mostly amused at the image of Dana McCauley yelling at "disenfranchised youth" to get off her lawn. [Homemakers.com: Dana McCauley's Blog]

I've never heard of Gale's before but it appears to be an east-end hidden gem. Scroll on down and check out those menu prices. 85¢ for pie, yo! [Foodpr0n.com]

Also cheap - making your own chicken barley soup for 80¢ a serving. [Well Preserved]

If you regularly ride along King Street West and wonder to yourself when that Paese place is ever gonna open, and what's the hold up, anyway - here's your answer - months of renos, disagreements with architects, not to mention having to clear out everything from the previous tenants, right down to pans of three-week-old risotto. Plus a bit of fun history of the area. [Paese King Street]

And in Food For Thought - gross food stories, bikini-clad baristas, and beer builds bones! [Save Your Fork]

You should see me! I really am the obnoxious old lady of downtown Richmond Hill! I am the one who reports speeders to road watch and I do, in fact, yell at people to slow down when the streak past me as I go on my evening walks. I've got a very crusty rep!

    Thanks for the link.
