Here's what's cooking around town today...
'Tis the season. I don't care if you're not ready. Santa Claus is coming to town on Sunday, whether you like it or not, thus kicking off the official holiday party season. I know this because every restaurant in the city has emailed or tweeted (twitted? twatted?) about their holiday party specials. Smooth move, Dalton - the new harmonized sales tax will not be charged on prepared food and drink under $4 - so all the junk food and crap that is getting taxed in other jurisdictions in an effort to dissuade people from buying it and to help pay for health care costs associated with a poor diet, is still cheap and easy to get. Awesome. /sarcasm [Toronto Star]
For coffee lovers, that no HST thing is good news, and with all the new cafes popping up (hey, where's Blondie's on that list??) there's plenty to choose from. [Toronto Life: Daily Dish]
