Here's what Toronto food writers are gnawing on this week... (I know... sometimes these come out sounding rude.)
- Blog From Our Kitchen - you can't buy beet tops without the beets - why is that? Anyway, if you use the extra beets to make ice cream, it turns out really, really pink.
- Bon Eats - wait! CHESTNUT moon cakes? And now I've got to wait until next year to get them? Awww...
- Cream Puffs in Venice - Leafs fans often need comforting, so comfort food like Mac 'n' Cheese is a great way to make it through that final (losing) shoot out.
- Descent into Dessert - pulled pork is not so intimidating when you have a fancy pot to cook it in.
- Food With Legs - I'm always amused at some of the stuff food bloggers come up with, and fermented hot sauce definitely wins this week's unique award.
- Get the Foodie 411 - a visit to Caplansky's gains yet another devoted follower for the deli.
- Ginger Rose - what do you get when you mix Bisquick and 7-UP? Popeye's biscuits. I'm not sure if that's cool or terrifying.
- Gothic Epicures VinCuisine - a preview of the LCBO Vintages release.
- Living in the Kitchen With Puppies - I kept reading this as "a 3-tiered spout", which would have been awesome, but sprouters are cool too.
- Porkosity - tasty, flavourful, toothsome, resto, foodie - we thank Corey Mintz for not falling for these standard food writing cliches during his time at the Star.
- Save Your Fork - speaking of food and cliches - a rant on foodiots.
- Seven Spoons - when cake comes back - grab a fork and philosophize.
- Sweet Things - and this is why I never pursued a career in pastry - because all this detail work (holy crap!!) would have made my head explode.
- Unsweetened Chocolate - Panko. Panko very much. (It'll rock your chicken.)
- Vegan Cookbook Critic - the very best vegan muffins in Toronto.
- Welcome to the World of Ontario Wine - summing up Sonoma.
- Well Preserved - an evening of preserving with the gang from Not Far From the Tree.

Sheryl - You are funny - I love your commentary. Thanks so much for regularly visiting my blog! Have a great weekend! Juanita
