Food!: Sink Your Teeth Into Science

Explore the relationship between food and science in a wide variety of mini-experiments and demonstrations throughout the Centre. Learn how we digest food; how worms digest food - vermicomposting; the misconceptions around eating insects; how butter is made from cream; test your lunch box for it’s cooling effectiveness; learn about rotting foods; understand what your food labels are really saying; test real vs. fake flavours; and much more. Toronto Ribfest 2009

Presented by the Rotary Club of Etobicoke, Toronto Ribfest lures folks in with live music, succulent ribs, beer tents, arts and crafts show, carnival rides, a climbing wall and pony rides for the kids. All proceeds from this fundraising event are returned back to the community through charitable organizations.

A weekly evening on the patio featuring wine tastings from Cave Spring Cellars and The Vine Wine Agency. Chef Steffan Howard will pair the wine for that week with local fresh product and create a sumptuous laid back dinner with an entrée off the barbecue. The John Dickie Band will perform their live rockin' blues from 7:00 to 11:00 PM.
