Here's some food for thought for today...
- Lots of stuff in the news recently about underground or "pop-up" restaurants - in the UK they seem to be taking place in private homes. Is it possible that the next great chef might be lurking behind the stoves in some suburb? And in San Francisco, underground restaurants get a little wild with a meal made from foraged food.
- Greenpeace activists take over the NYC location of Nobu in protest of that restaurant's decision to continue to serve bluefin tuna.
- We all have goals and aspirations for our careers - attending Chicago's All Candy Expo is one of mine. Sweet, sweet sugar...
- Or we could just encourage the people who like to cook to do so, regardless of their gender. Why feminism could mean you end up eating Mr. Noodles for the rest of your life.
- You know how you're not supposed to dump used cooking grease down the drain? Someone should have told the folks at Krispy Kreme that. The town of Fairfax, Virginia is blaming their sewage leaks on gunk from the donut factory clogging pipes.
- Gordon Ramsay speaks publicly about his company's debt, overly-ambitious expansion plans, and how he's rectified the mess.
- And finally - a Georgia teen makes her prom dress out of pop can tabs. Friends helped collect the tabs to speed up the process (and possibly to keep the girl from going into diabetic shock fromĀ consuming so much corn syrup).
