Here's some food for thought for today...
- Growing processed food organically doesn't mean it's safer from contamination by pathogens, but only cranks would use that as an excuse to diss organics as a whole (yes, Gina Mallet, I'm talking to you... why are you only able to tell the part of the story that supports your warped point of view?)
- Speaking of cranks - yes, we've set up a Twitter feed. No, there will never be anything there other than an RSS feed to our posts. Life is too short to have cranks forced upon you under the guise of "social" networking.
- Do the Dew - Pepsi offers help to a mobile dentist in Appalacia who is treating children with "Mountain Dew Mouth"; rampant tooth decay brought about by the children drinking the soda from the time they can hold a sippy cup.
- Don't diss the freezer - there is more to frozen food than processed crap, and those who cook to "feed the freezer" often eat better than everybody else.
- If commodity prices are going down, why are wholesale prices on food going up? And what does that mean for consumers?
- There's no McNuggets - a woman called 911 when McD's ran out of what she ordered. Turns out she had already paid and the server wouldn't give her a refund.
- And finally, they're making cell phones so cheap these days, they can afford to give them away - Wisconsin woman finds a phone in her bag of potato chips.
