Here's some food for thought for today...
- The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation donates $90 million to aid cocoa and cashew farmers in Africa.
- Corn Dog Millionaire - the folks at Serious Eats may well have too much time on their hands.
- Here's some money to feed poor kids, now give it back - Cargill announces a $1million donation to the Global Foodbanking Network, which will use the money to buy products from Cargill to send to those in need.
- Just as they did in Halifax, Hershey's is shutting down plants in Pennsylvania and outsourcing jobs. York Peppermint Patties will join Pot of Gold chocolates and will now be made south of the border, down Mexico way. So much for supporting the local economy in a time when Americans need jobs.
- Is fast food the new comfort food? - Jay Rayner explores the idea that McD's and KFC have replaced the home-cooked meal both in our hearts and our bellies.
- I bet I can lose 10 pounds - bookies might be the incentive needed to drop bad habits like smoking or that extra weight. Lose the bet by not losing the weight and the money can be donated to charity.
- And finally, remember Little Gordon? The 9-year-old Gordon Ramsay impersonator so amused the celebrity chef that he was flown to Los Angeles to appear on an upcoming episode of the US Hell's Kitchen. He will also appear on Ramsay's The F-Word series in the UK.

Milton Hershey founded his business on sourcing and buying local milk, and using the aboundant labor force in central PA. He founded schools and a hospital. How would Mr. Hershey feel about these jobs moving to Mexico. The Hershey corporation has lost sight of its roots, ignored it's founder, and lost a lifetime customer.
