Here's some food for thought for today...
- A UK restaurant allows diners to pay what they want for meals during the month of February.
- Kids who watch more TV eat more junk food.
- The end of the cheap food era could force Western consumers to eat more GM foods, less organic; whereas in India, greater affluence is what's leading people away from a healthy diet.
- The poor also have to think about feeding their pets - a food bank for animals is being set up in Amsterdam.
- Reservations for Valentine's Day dinner are down, with sales of candy expected to go up.
- Oh, really? The Canadian Meat Council gets a titch defensive about all the negative press the inspection process has gotten lately.
- And finally, sales of Country Life butter in the UK are up 85% since the man with the funny hair told people to go buy the stuff. Oi!
