Food For Thought - Tuesday, September 23rd

Here's some food for thought for today...

  • Tired of all the ads for probiotic yogurts? Soon you'll be able to get your bacteria through a straw.
  • British supermarket Waitrose brings back the hard-to-find cuts of meat - cheeks and trotters and tripe - oh my!
  • Foodies are over tomatoes and melons and are looking ahead to fall foods - here's 10 to try.
  • Barbie's a career girl again, this time she's a chef - but not content to be a plan old "Croc-sporting, whites-wearing, 12-hour-a-day in front of a grill" kind of chef, Barbie is now a TV chef, complete with cameras, lights and a mixer that matches her boots. Barbie - teaching kids everywhere that it's only worth doing something if it makes you famous.
  • And speaking of famous chefs, Mario Batali discusses his new show and being a "celebrity" chef.
  • When is curry really curry?
  • And finally, is food blogging a form of eating disorder? Or is it simply that people with eating disorders are using blogs to become even more obsessive about what they eat?
