Here's some food fo thought for today...
- Cheese Magic in Kensington Market has been shut down by Toronto Public Health - not because of the recent listeria link, but because of cat and mouse droppings found in the shop.
- And an Ontario cheese manufacturer is recalling products that may be contaminated with listeria.
- The Corn Refiners Association would like you to know that there's nothing wrong with a little high fructose corn syrup. Honest. Really. Go on... just try some.
- Okay, I'm down with the eccles cake flavour, but haggis ice cream? ewww!!
- The wrap-ups of the Slow Food Nation event in San Francisco continue, with a concise look at some of the ongoing issues that plague the Slow Food movement (ie. "where be the vegetables?", and "there sure are a lot of rich white people here").
- Remember the "little Gordon" videos we linked to a couple of weeks back? Turns out Ramsay's 8-year-old son was upset by the videos, because "he started getting upset because he thought I was talking to his grandma like that", the chef says. Apparently it's okay to curse at everyone else - just not Grandma.
