Here's some food for thought for today...
- It's peak harvest time, but how do inexperienced home gardeners know when things are ripe? Here's some tips on how to tell when things are ready.
- Well that explains all those fat dietitians... apparently it takes more than education to change dietary choices.
- Kangaroo meat is supposed to be a tasty, healthier, more environmentally-friendly alternative to beef. Just not for Australians, who are weirded out by eating the iconic critter.
- Wine in a box has its fans. No, really.
- That Duff is such a doll. Ace of Cakes Duff Goldman now comes in action figure form. Jazz him up with additional props like a chainsaw, flamethrower or spatula.
- Women don't drink enough beer, or so say the folks at Guinness who have created a watered-down version of their famous stout aimed at women. I'm one of the few women I know who only drink stouts and porters (dude... beer that tastes like coffee, chocolate and/or oatmeal? Gimmee!!), but one of the comments in this article is bang-on - maybe, just maybe, the macho and sexist advertising is what turns women off.
Oh for dog's sake! I am a woman and I'm the stout/porter drinker in the family. My favs are Guinness, Young's Double Chocolate Stout and Mill Street Coffee Porter. There are probably just as many men who don't like the heavy dark beers.
