Here's some food for thought for today...
- This past weekend's An Evening at the Chef's Table was a huge hit - check out the recap at Spotlight Toronto.
- Turns out Julia Child was a spy for the US government.
- For those of us who can't let a conversation pass without inserting a Simpson's quote, it's good to know they can help out with healthy eating tips as well. "Olive oil? Asparagus? If your mother wasn't so fancy, we could just shop at the gas station like normal people."
- Prince Charles, the world's best-known organic farmer, speaks out against GMOs.
- Nutritional labelling on food items is useless unless the customer actually reads it.
- Irish grain farmers protest outside the Guinness brewery.
- Here we go again - another case of BSE is found in Alberta.
- And finally, a UK catering industry website has a new spokesperson named Little Gordon, who is on "a personal mission to rid the world of rubbish food and pathetic service". (Sound familiar, Gordon Ramsay fans?) Possibly not safe for work - the curse words are bleeped - but the way the kid is able to mimic the real Gordon Ramsay is astounding.
