Here's some food for thought for today...
- First off, I am calling a moratorium on the suffix "licious". Toronto's annual beer festival is called "Toronto's Festival of Beer", not Beerlicious. Also - Roncylicious?? Enough!! Enough with the licious-ing. Come up with something not done to death, people.
- NOW reports that it's coffeelicious (see, stupid, no?) over at Manic Coffee where the fancy $15-a-cup Esmeralda coffee is going for around $4 a cup because shop owners accidentally ordered too much.
- Raw milk cheese aged under 60 days has been legalized in Quebec. Now if only Ontario would grab a clue.
- The New York Times has an article on the struggle facing soul food restaurants in Harlem with changing diets and the ban on trans fats.
- Culinate has an interesting piece by a meat distributor, who says it takes many people to get food to the table, and they all play an important role.
- Keep your bread fresh longer with these tips from Wasted Food, and then visit the online toaster museum to turn it into toast.
- FoodBytes looks at the pros and cons of bringing Country of Origin Labelling to Canada.
- And finally, sommeliers everywhere are shaking in their boots at the invention of the new (and unfortunately named) "electric tongue" that can identify a wine's vintage and grape variety.
