blog8.jpgMore great posts this week from Toronto food bloggers, offering up lots of "food" for thought.

To start us off, Catherine of Sugar and Ink looks at recent events and wonders if the obsession with food might be out of place compared to the fire on Queen Street West, or the resignation of Fidel Castro, but a quote from M. F. K. Fisher sets things right.

At Fear and Loathing in the Kitchen, Tracey looks at the food of other cultures, and the issues surrounding eating animals we Westerners consider to be pets.

And speaking of dubious things to put in yer bellah, Rob of Hungry in Hogtown opens up about his favourite junk foods.

My favourite junk food is a treat that I really wish came in a healthy version, and over at Save Your Fork, I explore how the peanut butter cookie is destined to always end up in the "bad" column.

And while Ferdzy of Seasonal Ontario Food isn't technically a Toronto blogger, I just have to include her post about a 1962 newspaper clipping she found which details a typical weekly menu for the time. It's great!

There's some great restaurant reviews this week as well; Alana of Wasabi Cowgirl visits Perigee, Ian of the Galumphing Gourmand scores a free lunch at Akasaka, and k-chan of I Can't Believe I'm Back in Toronto enjoys the small plates at Casa Barcelona.
