Blog-A-Log - Saturday, February 16th

blog8.jpgI love the weeks when Toronto food bloggers give me lots of posts to chose from. This was one of those weeks, and there are piles of great posts today.

Not everyone agrees with Gina Mallet's restaurant reviews, but I love her blog because it's always full of snarkily fun posts like this one about Alice Waters requesting local pears in NYC in February.

At Recipes For Trouble, Marusya is finding help in the kitchen from her friends.

Corey Mintz of Porkosity has trouble writing a restaurant review when all he can come up with is "good". Meanwhile, k-chan of I Can't Believe I'm Back in Toronto finds the right words to describe lunch at Mercatto.

Tracy of Fear and Loathing in the Kitchen whips off a letter to nutrition guru Marion Nestle, making it clear that one diet does not fit all.

The recipe bloggers haven't been sitting on their laurels either; Eric of Do You Know the Muffin Man? has Salt and Pepper Cashews; there are Vegan Rajas at Garlicster; Violet Velvet Cupcakes from The Candied Quince; Crab Summer Rolls from Kevin at Closet Cooking in case you're trying to avoid the cold and pretend it's summer; and Roasted Eggplant Soup from Jennifer at The Domestic Goddess if you're just trying to stay warm.

I think my comment post was not submitted correctly. Here goes again..

Pears and apples from the Hudson Valley are available at the Greenmarkets all through winter, thanks to the miracle of cold storage!

    Cheers..
