There's good sushi, and there's bad sushi. In terms of reviews, Steven Davey wins the coin toss at NOW this week, with his review of much-acclaimed Sushi 930. Losing out is Graham Duncan who finds himself at one of this decade's culinary nightmares - the all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, in this case, Mariko. Duncan also has a heart-warming suggestion on how to spend Family Day - tucked into a bottle of Whyte & Mackay The Thirteen whisky.
At Eye, Alan Vernon and Sean Kelly Keenan enjoy the fine cuts of meat at Prime. (And while I know it's a long shot, I can't help but wonder if someone at the Windsor Arms is a secret fan of writer Poppy Z. Brite and her book about a steakhouse called Prime.)
Billy Munnelly has a selection of Valentine's wines (including the lovely Framboise from Southbrook) at Metro. There's also a recipe for maple syrup cheesecake, while Rick McGinnis reviews Amaya, and the foodie interview is Diane Salema whose idea of cooking appears to be flinging peanut butter onto the ceiling.
