Seems we're all anxiously awaiting Winterlicious, and Torontoist has a preview post about the dining event this week with some of their picks for best-sounding dishes. Meanwhile Cafe signage is the topic of the day at Posted Toronto where Niche Coffee has taken over the old Vienna Home Bakery, but kept the frame of the beloved sign.
BlogTO's got reviews of 930 Sushi by Vanessa and Country Style Hungarian Restaurant by Tanja, while Jerrold discovers large paper bags at the LCBO. Too bad these more environmentally-friendly bags don't actually have handles, though. D'oh!
Still trying to stick to the 100-mile diet? (Hey, you, hypocrite - put down the coffee!!) Eric Vellend of Menumental sends readers to the root cellar with seven recipes for carrots.
At Gremolata, Malcolm Jolley previews the Canadian Culinary Championships. Jolley also reviews Château La Brie 2003, and Zoltan Szabo features the wines of Le Clos Jordanne.
James Chatto has more on the Canadian Culinary Championships on his blog at Toronto Life, including a full schedule of events and a special discount offer. In his wine blog, David Lawrason discusses Organized Crime - not the extortion so many beer and wine drinkers accuse the LCBO of, but the Niagara winery with the fun name.
