webapple.jpgRight after the annual end of year round-up time comes poll time, and BlogTO is running their Best of Independent Toronto Food and Drink Poll. Categories are multiple choice though, so don't be surprised if your favourite cafe or pizza joint didn't make the cut. Tim's also got a review of LeVack Block, a new bar on Ossington that has a great sandwich menu.

And speaking of newly opened bars, Posted Toronto has a quickie profile of WrongBar in Parkdale.

Torontoist finishes up their foodie heroes and villains series with Restaurant Makeover scoring in the villain category. They even reference our fun game of Restaurant Makeover Deathwatch (coming soon - Restaurant Makeover Drinking Game; take a swig if the designer complains about construction foreman Igor, chug your drink if some necessary material does not arrive on time). Torontoist also has a review of D-Ganz.

At Spotlight Toronto, Suresh previews Winterlicious, and I somehow missed this post from December 28th on Unknown Toronto, but Sarah has a post about the Great Toronto Truffle Hunt, searching out some of the city's best chocolates.

Malcolm Jolley looks at Alice Waters' The Art of Simple Food at Gremolata, and also reviews Ètim "Old Vines" Grenache, while Zoltan Szabo explores pairing wine with Indian food.

At Toronto Life, James Chatto reviews the cookbook A Year at Les Fougères, and David Lawrason looks at bargains in the first new wine releases of the year.
