The guys at NOW review some interesting places this week. Steven Davey hits Roncesvalles and discovers a former Susur Lee sous-chef running the stoves at the Inter Steer, a recently swanked-up tavern that caters to old guys and hipsters alike. Graham Duncan heads across town to Detroit Eatery, the epitome of a local diner. Duncan's also got a couple of reds and a warming rum in his Drink Up column.
At Eye, man about town Corey Mintz visits Jacob's & Co., an old skool style steakhouse where the beef makes him weak in the knees.
They're offering up tips for healthy holiday eating over at Metro (come on now - what fun is that??), as well as tips for festive brunch meals. And Billy Munnelly has a selection of critter wines (those with animals on the label) for holiday party animals.
Also at Metro, working on Paula Deen's theory that cheese is a food group, and therefore good for you, there are some tips on putting together a cheese plate, and Marcy Cornblum interviews Global news correspondent Hannah Boudreau. Chris Atchinson profiles Alice Fazooli's, and Laurie Wilson reviews Canoe.
