Picks of the Week:
One of a Kind Christmas Show & Sale
runs until Sunday, December 2, 2007
Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place
A Toronto tradition for over 30 years, the One of a Kind show always features a lot of artisanal food amongst the hundreds of vendors: jams, jellies, pickles, oils, cookies, chocolates, cakes and much more. Go to do your Christmas shopping, and you'll find it hard to avoid buying something for yourself.
Swedish Christmas Fair
Saturday, November 24 & Sunday, November 25, 2007
Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay West
Sure, there'll be plenty of music and folk dancing and a traditional Lucia Pageant. But it's the food that we'll be going for, including saffron bread and ginger bread cookies, other baked goods, and imported Swedish delicacies.
Koningshoeven Launch & Beer Dinner
Tuesday, November 27, 2007
beerbistro, 18 King Street East
As any serious beer lover knows, some of the most revered brews in the world come from the seven breweries that are allowed to call themselves Trappist. Six of these monk-run breweries are located in Belgium, but the seventh - Koningshoeven - is located in The Netherlands. This event will mark the first time Koningshoeven beers have been available on draught in Canada, and it will include a four-course dinner with beer pairings prepared by beerbistro chef Brian Morin.
