Picks of the Week:

events_foodandwineshow.jpgGourmet Food & Wine Expo
continues until Sunday, November 18th
Metro Toronto Convention Centre (South Building), 222 Bremner Road

By the time you read this, you will have missed the VIP night on Thursday. But there will still be plenty of good stuff to check out on the other three days and nights of the Expo, including tutored wine tastings, a special fine wine tasting lounge featuring a number of rare and exclusive vintages, a Cheese Corner, and a special focus on the wines and food of Chile.

Sunday, November 18th

93 Highland Avenue

100 bucks may seem like a lot to pay for a bowl of porridge, even when it's being prepared for you by chefs Jamie Kennedy and Joanne Yolles. But this charity breakfast event, which will also feature MCs Jeanne Beker (Fashion Television) and Andy Barrie (CBC Radio), is raising funds for a very good cause: The Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases Parkinson’s Fund at U of T.

turducken.jpgAmerican Thanksgiving Turducken Dinner
Thursday, November 22nd

Southern Accent, 595 Markham Street

Celebrate the Thanksgiving of our southern neighbours in southern style with a feast of Turducken - a chicken stuffed into a duck stuffed into a turkey. It's like a poultry version of those Russian nesting dolls! The dinner will also feature three stuffings (cornbread, andouille sausage & oyster), yam-bourbon gravy, Grand Marnier cranberry citrus compote, brussel sprout gratin and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Plus dessert, if you still have room for it.
