Toronto lost its last decent (only) Indonesian restaurant a few years back, but Malaysian comes darn close for some. Catherine of Sugar and Ink dines out with a Malaysian friend at Restoran Malaysia with a review that mostly makes me crave Indonesian food.
At Do You Know the Muffin Man, Eric bakes up some Polish rugelach just in time for Rosh Hashanah. Rugelach is one of the few pastry items that never ever work for me, so I’ve gotta head north to Yitz’s in search of tasty pastry and a Jewish grandmother.
We all have our own list of kitchen essentials - the tools we just can’t live without - and Meena at Hooked on Heat shares hers with her readers.
At I Can’t Believe I’m Back in Toronto, k-chan visits Lalibela Ethiopian restaurant during the recent Ethiopian Millenium Day festivities, and enjoys the cheap, tasty and healthy food.
And finally at Save Your Fork, I get nostalgic about the last box of chocolates to come out of a Halifax factory about to be shut down.
