Many local foodies treat Summerlicious like a marathon, cramming in lunches and dinners at as many places as possible during the 16 days that it runs in July. Well, I'm not much of a sports guy, but I do know that athletes require training, and what better way to train for a big series of prix fixe dinners than by eating a smaller series of prix fixe dinners?
Enter Spring Fever on St. Clair, a sort of Summerlicious-lite taking place from May 31st to June 10th at sixteen restaurants on St. Clair West between Bathurst and Dufferin. As you might expect from the location, there are a number of Italian and Mediterranean restaurants participating, but you'll also find places serving Peruvian, Mexican and other Latin flavours, a sushi joint, a neighbourhood bistro and more. Check out the website for a full list of restaurants, complete with menus and other details.
This event has me wondering why more neighbourhoods and BIAs don't hold similar promotions, especially outside of the downtown core where the majority of the Summerlicious and Winterlicious restaurants are located. Or maybe there are similar things happening in other 'hoods and I just don't know about them. If you know of any restaurant promotions happening this summer, 'licious-style or otherwise, please leave a comment so we can help spread the word.
