No full blog-a-log this week, folks. We're rethinking and retooling a little bit, because the weekly blog round-up has become a lot of work, and forces me to sit here for hours weeding through many, many posts in order to find the really great stuff Toronto food bloggers are writing about. Up to this point, we've tried to include everything that was relevant, but it's become overwhelming.
We know many Toronto food bloggers look forward to our weekly round-up, and we definitely appreciate your support, so we'd love to hear any ideas you folks might have that would keep the column current, but also allow me to go out and get some sunshine on a lovely Sunday afternoon instead of staying chained to my computer. Some ideas we're bouncing around are doing features on one specific blog or featuring only five of the best posts each week. Let us know what you think.
In the meantime, we'd like to introduce you to Toronto's newest food blogger and soon to be TasteTO writer, Catherine from Sugar and Ink. She's got some wonderfully-written posts and many gorgeous photos, and we encourage you to check out her great blog.
Again, if you've got ideas on how to improve the Blog-A-Log column while still allowing ol' Sheryl to get out and play a little bit, drop us a line in the comments section.

Hooray! Thanks for the kind words on my blog, Sheryl. I'll try to brainstorm on the blog-a-load issue.
I can understand that a lot of work goes into each roundup. There were weeks when I sat and stared and thought to myself "wow, this is really comprehensive".
I look forward to it every week, but I understand its a heck of a lot of work. The top 5 posts of the week is a wonderful idea. Profiling certain sites can also work
I'd love to see what comes out of it.
I confess that I was using the blog-a-log to monitor what was going on with the Toronto bloggers; I too was really impressed at the amount of work that was going into it.
Top 5 posts of the week is a nice idea, as long as it doesn't turn out to be just as time-consuming to decide which ones are the top 5.

P.S. Very nice to have discovered Catherine's blog.
I have been thinking about this and I agree with Elizabeth - could be just as time-consuming, in a way, to pick the top 5.
Here's an idea: bloggers could send you a brief weekly summary or a favourite post from the week (on their own blog, or on another blog they've been reading). This might speed up your screening/reviewing process.
Do you think that bloggers would know and/or remember to send a summary, Catherine? Might that also just create more to sift through as well? - there may be duplicates in the emails sent.
