citybites_mayjun07.jpgAfter a couple-of-months hiatus, Toronto's free food and drink mag City Bites recently returned with their 2nd annual wine issue. There's too much good stuff crammed into its 28 pages to list everything, but some highlights include:

  • Howard Dubrovsky finding some veggie brunch options at the generally meat-leaning Bistro & Bakery Thuet.
  • Profiles of new King Street West bistro Bungalow CafĂ© by Lindsay Forsey, hot sauce speciality shop Taste: The Fourth Sense by Yuki Hayashi, and classic old school steakhouse Barberian's by Malcom Jolley.
  • City Bites' picks for Toronto's "Hot Nine of Wine".
  • Tonia Wilson on food and wine pairings, and Stephen Temkin on some often overlooked wines of France.
  • Master Sommelier John Szabo helping the Indian Rice Factory put together a suitable wine list for their complex and spicy dishes.
  • Laura Panter on some of Toronto's great neighbourhood bars.

And that's only about half of it. If you want the full picture, you can pick up a copy at many restaurants and shops around the city, or download a PDF version of the issue from the City Bites website.
