At Beer, Beats and Bites, Greg reviews a mild ale for the Session round up, and gets curmudgeonly about proper martinis.- At Blog From Our Kitchen, they're cooking up Chilli Chicken... not southwestern chili with chicken in it, but a Chinese-Indian recipe for chicken in a chili sauce. Yum.
- There are cuppycakes in the oven at Confessions of a Cardamom Addict, and after reading A Pig In Provence, Jasmine's got the travelling bug.
- Torta di Riso... rice pudding pie! Ivonne at Creampuffs in Venice bakes up this amazing dish from a Jamie Oliver cookbook. For May, she's cooking from a booked called Tea Party and her first entry is mini chai sponge cakes.
- In the kitchen at Do You Know the Muffin Man?, Eric is baking up cranberry walnut pumpkin loaves. He also makes a "South of the Border" truffle with peppers, lime vodka, peppermint extract and chili oil. He promises tasting notes later, but we suspect these truffles might have made his head explode.
- At Hooked on Heat, Meena muses about people who drop by for dinner uninvited and pulling together a chana masala dish that so impressed her date that he married her.
- Rob at Hungry in Hogtown muses about how the recipes in cookbooks by celebrity chefs don't always match what you get in the restaurant, but cooks up some black cod that is a reasonable facsimile of the version found at Nobu.
- At I Can't Believe I'm Back in Toronto, k-chan hits a number of restaurants around the city this week, including Bikkuri, Flatiron and Firkin, Mama's Pizza, Sushiman, and Falafel World.
- Megan the Vegan is cooking up curries and had joined the throngs of those of us addicted to injera, the Ethiopian bread made from teff. She also bakes up a gorgeous cake decorated to look like Indian mehndi.

- Marusya at Recipes For Trouble is crazy for asparagus and is looking for new and interesting recipes.
