Everyone loves Sunday brunch (well, except for the people who have to cook and serve it). But Suresh at Spotlight Toronto seems to love it a lot more than the rest of us, and he's out to prove it with a five part series of posts covering some of his favourite brunch spots in Toronto and surrounding areas. The first instalment went up on Saturday, and it includes mini-reviews of Markham Station, Smalltalk, Sunset Grill, Patachou & Hot House Cafe. And since man cannot live on Eggs Benny alone, Mehreen reports on dinner at El Bodegon.
Over on BlogTO, Tanja agrees with our own Howard Dubrovsky that the new St. Clair West location of Boom Breakfast & Co. is pretty awesome, while Frank gets a taste of the fatherland at old school German schnitzelhaus The Musket, and then goes on a hunt for Toronto's best fish & chips. There's also a post from Michelle lamenting the upcoming closure of Mildred Pierce, and a quick news piece from Ryan L. on the recent calls for Toronto restaurants to start reducing trans fats.
Lynda Spark of Eye Daily comes to the defence of the oft-maligned Sneaky Dee's on the eve of their 20th anniversary (20 years??? Holy crap, that makes me feel old!), while Meghan Eves offers an Asian-themed addendum to last Thursday's Eye Weekly review of Indo-Chyna, featuring blurbs on Spring Rolls, Susur, Thai Basil, Mint Thai & Kubo Radio.
Finally, Torontoist's Cordelia Coyle suggests making some (relatively) healthy mini-cupcakes for Easter. We're too late for Easter now, but isn't every day a good day for mini-cupcakes?
