Consider yourself warned in advance. We're telling you now so you can go home tonight and make yourself a brown bag lunch. Put a nice sandwich in there (maybe something other than tuna), toss in some fruit, maybe some carrot sticks, and some cookies if you need a bit of something sweet. Because tomorrow, you see, is Lunch Money Day.
On Thursday, February 22nd, Second Harvest is asking that you take the money you'd normally spend on lunch (and that includes you folks, hiding at the back, with the lunch reservation at Canoe!) and donate it to Lunch Money Day so some people who don't normally get to eat lunch might have a chance to do so.
If you go to school or work in an office, it's also not to late to organize your troops. Maybe make a contest out of it and see how much money your office or school can raise. The site also offers an area to donate, and an interactive feature where you can fill a child's plate with food.
So dig around in the kitchen drawer for a brown paper bag and pick up some lettuce for that sandwich, and please donate generously tomorrow so that everyone in our city has an opportunity to enjoy lunch.
what a great idea!! thanks sheryl!
