Here's what's been happening at "the competition" this past week.
Over at BlogTO, Michelle does a three-part series on French dining, starting with a review of Didier, then moving on to Pastis, and finally an article on French food to go. Denise takes a closer look at Canada's new Food Guide and comes to the same conclusion the rest of the non-brainwashed part of the country has - that it's mostly created to appease corporate interests. Those ignoring the existence of a food guide ("We don't need no steenkin' recommendations!") might find Jerrold's review of two independant suburban fast food joints more to their liking. And finally Michelle (who just might be the hardest working restaurant reviewer in the city) has high praise for The Host.
At TorontoBits, I review vegetarian restaurant Boom Shiva.
Crist Dart of Torontoist checks out Pita-Q a shwarma place at Bloor and Spadina and Rhonda Riche writes about ChocoSol, where she gets to sample some delicious solar roasted hot chocolate.
